* "What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore" by Samantha J. Rose
(Fantasy/Dark)
As a sailor whose life is centered around canvas sails and the sea, the last person Isaac ever expects to find in a fairytale is, well...himself. Yet here he stands, on the edge of the River from the storybook his mother used to read to him as a child, watching it flow from one world to another as far as his eyes can see. Adding to this absurdity, he's been dragged here by a beautiful, green fairy with vines for hair and an explosive anger problem—yes, explosive. Also, he had to fight a vicious little old man and his air dragon to get to this point.
How much more will he have to face before he can return to his dinners of mashed potatoes and turkey? His adventure couldn't possibly include giant worms, massive flowers with eyes, clairvoyants, shapeshifters, or that terrifying man Isaac calls Snowman...
Could it?

* "Objection" by Andre Sanders
(Romantic/Thriller/Mature)
She agreed to her abduction...but never dreamed that she’d fall in love.
Single mother Shei Rivera volunteers herself to a plan orchestrated by her father, Liam Rivera, who is a criminal defense prosecutor for the state of Virginia. The situation requires Shei to commit an unimaginable crime of her own—homicide.
Liam has ordered her to murder the man he prosecuted years prior over a reckless-driving-related death of a child.
On the morning of her abduction, Shei is physically assaulted, gagged, and bound prior to being thrown inside the trunk of a vehicle. Unsure of who her attacker is, she is transported to a cabin deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains and handed over to Casper Floyd, the man whom her father helped convict. Strangely, Shei discovers that Casper is nothing like he was described as being. He is nice, polite, and vows to look after her. Also, he denies any wrongdoing in the crime he had been incarcerated over. He claims that it was her father who assured his conviction by way of deceitful and highly unlawful legal practices.
As the two spend much time learning about each other, Shei discovers the shocking secret that her deceased mother’s two-million-dollar life insurance policy is at the heart of this scheme. She comes to the conclusion that Casper is not the monster he was made out to be and is actually there to protect her.
The true villain seems to be everyone else involved. Individuals she would have never once suspected. For what reason would someone want them both dead? How far will Shei and Casper have to go to assure their survival? Ultimately, can love and affection truly evolve from an intended devastation?
